‘and then we dance’

a film brings certain people together, encouraging them to share the same air and gaze upon the same images, creating a peculiar kinship. For almost a year, she has been constructing a dynamic and ever-evolving lesbian oral archive, exploring how lesbians perceive each other and how this challenges the hegemony of the gaze. “What does a camera see when it dances?” was the question that prompted this work. Dancing serves as a metaphor to envision other ways of seeing and inhabiting this world. ‘And then we dance’ is both an experiment and a gesture, inviting viewers to consider softer and gentler perspectives of relating and looking at each other.
